Schools Out… For Spring?

This is definitely not one of my more polished posts, but things are not feeling very polished right now. Along with every household in the nation (and world), we woke up feeling unsettled. Breaking a routine feels uncomfortable, even in the best circumstances. The loss of control sends our brains into survival mode. My oldest daughter, in particular, was feeling anxious. In an effort to settle her nerves, I wanted to give her back some control. So, we sat down together to create a family schedule for the next few weeks.

Below is a quick video of the thought process behind our daily schedule. I am including a copy of our final product in case you want a starting point for your own conversation. I also created an option that may be more appropriate for secondary students.

Feel free to add your schedules or ideas in the comments.

We used Adalyn’s school schedule to create ours.

7-9 get up and get ready
    9-10 Math
    10-10:30 No Tech Playtime
    10:30-11:30 Reading
    11:30-12:30 Lunch
    12:30-1:30 Writing & Grammar
1:30-2:30 Special Activity (art, gym, etc)
    2:30-3:30 Snack & Quiet Time
    3:30-4:30 No Tech Playtime
    4:30-5 iPad

    Thanks for the idea!
